About the Role
Given the rapid growth InPost Iberia is experiencing, we are looking for a Chief Operations Officer to lead and scale our operations. This role is key in integrating new acquisitions, driving operational excellence, and implementing innovative solutions across the business. The COO will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure efficiency, high quality, and continued expansion in a fast-paced environment. This role reports directly to Marc Vicente, General Manager of Iberia.

As a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team, the COO will be at the front of a transformative journey for InPost Iberia. We are experiencing rapid expansion, driven by both strong organic growth within existing markets and strategic acquisitions designed to broaden our reach and capabilities. This dual-track growth strategy demands a visionary, executional and adaptable leader capable of harmonizing established operations with newly acquired entities, creating a unified and highly efficient organization.
The COO for Iberia will champion a culture of innovation and will be the driving force behind integrating cutting-edge technologies to redefine our operational landscape. This includes: strategically deploying advanced mechanization solutions to optimize our network, implementing tailored Artificial Intelligence to drive smarter decision making and predictive efficiencies across vital functions, and leading automation initiatives to streamline end-to-end processes from order fulfillment to customer service. By driving these advancements, the COO will ensure that we not only achieve operational excellence, but also deliver tangible business value, strengthen our competitive advantage, maximize shareholder returns and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
The key mission of the COO is to scale our existing operations at a high degree of excellence and quality to turn this side of the business into a clear strength against market competitors to accelerate our business growth. The COO will partner with the General Manager, Commercial director and other SLT members to build a highly competitive environment whose final goal is to transform InPost Iberia into a leading player in the industry.
This role requires a blend of strategic foresight, hands-on execution, and the ability to inspire a high-performing team to embrace change and achieve ambitious goals.
What responsibilities and objectives will you have?
Operational Strategy & Execution:
- Develop, implement, and refine operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives and take learnings from group expertise.
- Lead the execution of operational plans across all departments, ensuring seamless integration and synergy.
- Oversee the development and implementation of efficient and scalable processes, leveraging technology and automation.
- Proactively identify and address operational challenges and opportunities, ensuring agility and responsiveness to market changes.
Performance Management & Optimization:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all operational areas such as productivity of the operational functions, unit economics of our execution and general service quality delivered.
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization.
- Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Oversee resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, lead, and motivate high-performing operational teams across various departments.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members.
- Ensure effective talent management, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), other regional COOs, and in alignment with the Group COO, to develop and implement cohesive business strategies across the matrix organization.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and customers.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and support.
Acquisition Integration (where relevant):
- Play a key role in due diligence activities for potential acquisitions, assessing operational risks and opportunities.
- Develop and execute integration plans for acquired entities, ensuring alignment with overall operational strategies.
- Manage post-acquisition integration processes, including harmonizing systems, processes, and cultures.
Well, what will the requirements be?
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling operations in a high-growth environment.
- Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., e-commerce, logistics, retail).
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, strong command of Portuguese will be a plus.
- Willingness to travel across Iberia and work closely with international teams.
